Ari Lennox

Courtney Shanade Salter, born March 26, 1991, often referred to professionally by the name Ari Lennox, hails from Washington, D.C. and was the first female signing with J. Cole's Dreamville Records label. In the month of October Ari Lennox debuted her Pho EP. This was the moment that she received recognition. Shea Butter Baby is her debut album. It was released on May 19, 2019. Ari Lennox started uploading her music on the internet in 2012 as she released her debut mixtape, Five Finger Discount and debut EP Ariography in 2013. The year 2014 saw Ari Lennox continued posting her music on the internet, as well as her own single Bound. In July of 2015, Omen featured her on his album Elephant Eyes in the song Sweat It Out. J. Cole was interested by her talent and was looking to work with Rihanna. On December 28, 2008 it was revealed that Rihanna had signed to Dreamville Records. Backseat was her contribution for The Revenge of the Dreamers II album. In October 2016 she dropped her debut EP Pho. Ari Lennox appeared in J. Cole's Change song and opened her own tour, the 4 Your Eyez Only Tour 2017. She also appeared as a guest on two tracks, including the EarthGang's Nothing but the Best song as well as Bas's Icarus. On July 16 2018 Ari Lennox released the first single Whipped Cream on her first album Shea Butter Baby with an accompanied music video on September 5. Then on November 9, she released two additional singles, the 40 Shades of Choke as well as Grampa. In November, 13 she dropped two more singles entitled No One and Pdigree. She was featured with Cole on her Creed II Soundtrack on Shea Butter Baby the 16th of November 16th, and made the track available as a solo single to her debut album. The music video premiered on February 20, 2019 to go along with the track. Within the first week, it had over 3 million views. In December of 2018 the singer was a part of The From East Atlanta With Love Tour featuring 6LACK.
