Ky-Mani
Ky-Mani Marley one of the best-known and wealthiest Reggae artists was born on 26 February 1976 in Falmouth Jamaica. He sang in Shottas along with another artist Wyclef. Ky-Mani was signed by Shang Records in 1996 where he released his first album like Father Like Son. He recorded a variety of singles including Judge Not With Patra as well as Dear Dad (which reached the highest position on the British Reggae Charts) and the Who the Cap Fit Remix, and Sensimelia. All of these songs contributed to the rising popularity of Ky among the new generation of reggae singers. In 1997 Ky-Mani joined forces along with Praswell (Fugees) to record Avenue an acclaimed cover of Eddy Grant's Electric Avenue. Marley became the first artist to perform in Midem in Miami the world's largest showcase of music. Marley's show at the Cameo Theatre was broadcast live to 36 countries through the Caribbean News Agency. Marley was the target of an auction war. In 1997 he joined Gee Street/V2 Records.
